We know, firsthand, that the children's perspectives can be very subjective :) and that evenings can also get busy. Happy Friday. We had a great FULL week in 1S that we are excited to share with you!
In Math, we continued our adding doubles practice that was introduced last week by learning a new game, Doubles Fact Family Bingo! You can print and play at home here. Later in the week we learned the mental math strategy of 'Doubles Plus/Minus One'. We may be very excited to share our new strategy, "I know 6+6 =12 SO 6+7=13!"
In Ethics, we had a conversation about feelings and the words we use to describe them. As part of this discussion we viewed pictures with various expressions and sorted them into feeling categories with a partner. We loved this activity and will continue working on this project next week.
Last but not least, Adler Eagle visited 1S! The children were delighted to meet him and are more than excited to bring him home and to share their own experiences with him. If you have not yet done so please click here to sign up for Adler to visit your home.
In Spanish we have been learning the names of table place settings and words to use at restaurants. Here are some of the words if you'd like to practice at home!
